Why We Love This

Windows on the Past: Four Centuries of New England Homes by Jane C. Nylander and Diane L. Viera. Boston: Bulfinch Press/Little, Brown, 2000. First edition, with 38 historic black-and-white photographs and 220 color photographs by David Bohl of a wide variety of iconic, beautiful New England houses, inside and out. Narrow remainder mark on the top edge but a beautiful and well-designed book bound in patterned boards and a pictorial dust jacket.

About Barbara Farnsworth

My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
