The Iliad, Volume II, by Homer. English notes by F.A. Paley. London: Whittaker and George Bell, 1884. 496 pp. Split calf-leather hardcover with fine gilt decoration. Special edition produced the same year as a cloth edition specifically for Grosvenor School in Nottingham. Intricate gilt patterns of spine and cover edges. Insignia of school, an oval with school name and location with the motto "Manners Make the Man" in the center. Greek with English translation. Few dust spots.
