Collier's Encyclopedia, edited by Charles P. Barry. 20 complete volumes with bibliography and index. New York: P.F Collier Son, 1951 and 1952. All stated First Editions. The first Collier's Encyclopedia issued. 13,724 pp total. Hardcovers issued without dust jackets. Profusely illustrated, some in color. Theme of the circles on endpapers is "Man's March Through History," arranged chronologically. Two rear endpapers show small amount of tattering.
About the Seller
Julie Goldman has been collecting books all her life. As a child, she spent many days haunting the used book stores on 4th Avenue in NYC with her father. Most collectors become booksellers out of necessity, and Goldman began selling about 15 years ago. The library lions are the pair of stone lions who guard the New York Public Library.
