Hardcover. 264 pp, color-illustrated dust jacket, dark blue cloth, 41 full-page and double-page color plates. Ludwig's legacy is intertwined with the history of art and architecture. He commissioned the construction of two extravagant palaces and a castle, the most famous being Neuschwanstein.
