Why We Love This

Tallulah: My Autobiography by Tallulah Bankhead. NY: Harper Brothers, 1952. Early printing. 335 pages. Hardcover with dust jacket. This unique copy is signed twice by the iconic midcentury actress. The first is her name in pen on the endpaper, the second is from "Howard" but in her handwriting and with her typical aqua marker. One imagines it might have been to a paramour, and "Howard" was a personal joke. One never knew with Bankhead. Anything was possible.

About Nick Harvill Libraries

California-based Nick Harvill Libraries specializes in out-of-print and rare books from the 20th century on fashion, design, art, social history, travel, Hollywood, and photography. NHL and its books have been profiled in Vogue, C Magazine, The Peak of Chic, Angeleno, Vogue Living, the Los Angeles Times, and American Express’s Black Ink Magazine. Elle Décor recommended NHL for its “hip vintage books” from a “smart young dealer.”
