In the early 19th century, European travelers brought lavish Polish designs of French influence to the court weavers of Isfahan. Inspired by these designs, a new category of rug called Polonaise carpets was subsequently created by these highly skilled artisan weavers. The new vegetable-dyed colors in this collection are equally rich, but upscale contemporary interpretations of those in prized antique carpets. Hand knotted in Pakistan of 100 percent hand-carded wool, hand-sheared for a low sheen.
Rugs are unrivaled in their ability to pull the disparate items of a room into a beautifully cohesive whole. Whether traditional or contemporary, vintage or modern, wool or natural-fibered, a rug will create a wonderfully luxurious feel.
