Victorian green painted cast iron garden urn, American, 19th century.
In three special estate sales presented and curated by Gerald Bland, One Kings Lane honors Albert Hadley, the iconic designer whose singular vision set the tone for modern American decorating for nearly 50 years. The cottage on Pequot Avenue in Southport, CT, was Mr. Hadley’s fourth and last country house. Much of the furniture, objects and art in this sale can be found in photographs of his earlier houses in Dark Harbor, ME, Fort William on the Rockefeller property in Tarrytown, NY, and the Station Master’s House also in Southport.
