Why We Love This

"This pair of ceramic lidded jam jars from Wedgwood is ablaze in color and just plain delicious. Don't you love that those brilliant Brits used to keep their jams in jars such as these? Frankly, we like those little plastic things of Smucker’s that you get at Denny's along with your Mini Moos filled with half-and-half, but that's because we have trashy tendencies sometimes.”

John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon are the dynamic duo behind Madcap Cottage, their Brooklyn-based interior design firm. Known for their whimsical use of color and pattern, the Madcap gents scour the world for eclectic finds that capture their unique and gimlet-eyed view of the world. Imagine a British country house that pairs Granny’s antiques and a spirited dash of chinoiserie chic with a side of Moroccan marvelous and Indian élan. "If you are looking for beige and boring,” says Jason, "go bark up someone else’s tree.”
