Set of four 1950s books include L'art ancien du Mexique in French by Walter Lehmann, Masken in German by Rudolf Utzinger, A Japanese Paper-folding Classic by Julia and Martin Brossman, and Indian Art of the United States by Frederic H. Douglas and René d'Harnoncourt.

For 20 years, gallery owner and decorative-arts historian Liz O’Brien has been discovering the “new” old names in 20th-century American design, introducing the works of Samuel Marx, William Haines, and Karl Springer to the latest generation of trendsetters. Her distinctive point of view is guided by a passionate interest in the history of design and decoration. She wrote two books on Samuel Marx, Samuel Marx: Furniture and Decorations (1996) and Ultramodern (2007).
