For 20 years, gallery owner and decorative-arts historian Liz O’Brien has been discovering the “new” old names in 20th-century American design, introducing the works of Samuel Marx, William Haines, and Karl Springer to the latest generation of trendsetters. Her distinctive point of view is guided by a passionate interest in the history of design and decoration. She wrote two books on Samuel Marx, Samuel Marx: Furniture and Decorations (1996) and Ultramodern (2007).
