Why We Love This

A striking reproduction of the original 1905 work. Henri Matisse was a virtuoso, moving from cut-outs and sculpture to painting. The principal founder of Fauvism, he used expressive color, often giving his works a rich surface design. He was also a masterful draftsman. Educated and trained in Paris, Matisse spent most of his life in the South of France.
