"All-American Girl": The Art of Coles Phillips by Michael Schau. NY: Watson Guptill, 1975. Stated first printing. 176 pp. Hardcover with dust jacket. Phillip's career was short—1907-1927—but he created the All-American Girl of the era. Most of his work was advertising and magazine illustration. Illustrated in color, black white and sepia. DJ has a closed tear, small piece missing at lower spine, a few areas of toning, crease to flyleaf, price clipped. Edges of cover slightly faded.
About the Seller
Julie Goldman has been collecting books all her life. As a child, she spent many days haunting the used book stores on 4th Avenue in NYC with her father. Most collectors become booksellers out of necessity, and Goldman began selling about 15 years ago. The library lions are the pair of stone lions who guard the New York Public Library.
