Product Information

Why We Love This

"This early spongeware bowl boasts extraordinary color and fine fluting. Spongeware was done typically on the 19th century earthenware with background color spattered or dabbed (as with a sponge) and usually a freehand central design. For whipping eggs or displaying them. From Red Wing Potteries." 1920s or ‘30s.

As a sommelier, Lisa Minucci travels the world’s great wine regions and knows that where there is good wine, there is good food--and functional, beautiful pieces devoted to their creation and celebration. Her shop, Heritage Culinary Artifacts, is the ultimate repository for her fabulous finds. It’s also a wonderful excuse for Lisa to continue to travel, eat, fish, hunt, and forage, returning to her Napa Valley home with interesting booty and tales from the trails and tables along the way.
