Why We Love This

Vintage piece of handwoven green and beige Antico Setificio brocatelle.

Born in prewar Alexandria, where Greece and Africa were inextricably intertwined and the distant past and present coexisted in an easy harmony, prestigious interior designer John Stefanidis was educated in Egypt, studied at Oxford, then established his Chelsea, London, studio in 1967. His “look,” if there were such a thing, would combine bold and original use of vibrant color, an eclectic and cosmopolitan aesthetic, elegant proportions, and--above all--great comfort, with an international signature style that remains quintessentially London.
