Why We Love This

Ben and Me: An Astonishing Life of Benjamin Franklin by His Good Mouse Amos by Robert Lawson. Boston: Little Brown, 1940. Sixth printing. An early reprint of this classic, a year after the first printing, with the wry humor and fantastic woodcut-style drawings that Robert Lawson made famous with his earlier Ferdinand. Every great discovery from Franklin, it seems, was the work of his pet mouse. Jacket is chipped and book edge has minor stain, otherwise good.
