A map of Cape Cod, a peninsula that makes up the easternmost portion of Massachusetts. In the 17th century, the designation 'Cape Cod' applied only to the tip of the peninsula, essentially present-day Provincetown. This map is hand-drawn and printed on an old-fashioned letterpress to look like an authentic artifact. It is tinted with watercolor by the artist.
The artist Michelle Murdock founded Quail Lane Press to create her magical illustrations and works of art for a larger audience. While she’s always been an illustrator, Murdock earned a masters of science from Yale University before migrating to the West Coast. Quail Lane Press combines her love of art and science. The company operates in Tahoe City in northern California. All of the designs are made using environmentally-friendly techniques.
