Arch-top steamer trunk originally manufactured by MM Secor of Racine, Wisconsin (the largest US producer of premium trunks). Recovered in off-white 100% cotton heavyweight canvas duck and covered dust band. All original highly detailed fancy cast hardware and working lock and key included. Features chocolate bison-leather banding with black piping, as well as front, top and side slats made of premium laminated flame maple and cedar. Premium stitched leather handles on the sides.
Cool, collectible, and fantastically versatile, these are trunks with a past--and a glowing future. Each wonderful antique has been meticulously hand-restored and repurposed as a one-of-a-kind work of art by Randall Barbera, who uses premium leather, rare woods, and centuries-old building and refinishing techniques to create the exquisite centerpieces here. "Punctuating the original design, and then taking it one step further to enhance its personality, is the ultimate goal," says Barbera, who spends a full six weeks on each. No two are alike.
