A wonderful shot by Stuart Redler, whose interest in far-flung (and near) places and cultures has resulted in unusual images of architecture, people and nature. The unexpected and sometimes humorous subject matter, combined with the intense contrasts of black and white and use of strong light, give his pictures their stark and unique style. The print is set in an Italian gesso and wood frame which was hand-finished by craftsmen using traditional 17th-century Florentine techniques. This is a contemporary molding painted in white.

When European designers need the perfect black-and-white photograph, they turn to the archives of the William Stafford Gallery. Based in London, the gallery sources evocative, memorable images from large and small collections across the globe. William Stafford is known for unearthing remarkable undiscovered works by the most important photographers. The combination of the finest paper and ink on each work guarantees perfect clarity for a minimum of 50 years.
