Sultanabad Rugs were originally created for the European market in the 19th century. Though their color palettes can vary greatly, most Sultanabad rugs are known for their exuberant floral patterns and soft tones. This one here was made in Afghanistan and is an immaculate reproduction crafted with hand-spun, hand-knotted wool.
A passion for hand-knotted and hand-woven floor coverings informs every one of Mehraban’s rugs. Whether they are hand-selected vintage rugs or new pieces painstakingly crafted by master weavers in the centuries-old traditions of the East, each is an impressive, extraordinary work of art infused, according to Mehraban, “with the soul and spirit of its creators.”
