Why We Love This

An original lithograph printed in black ink on beige tinted Hollande Van Gelder wove paper. This work is hand-signed in pencil lower right "Picasso." It is a fine impression of the only state, from the edition of 25 printed on this paper (there were 25 additional impressions printed on white wove paper numbered from 1/50 to 25/50, then the 25 impressions on tinted wove paper numbered 26/50 to 50/50), numbered “27/50” in pencil lower left (there were 5 additional épreuves d'essai [trial proofs]). Published by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, Editions Galerie Simon, Paris; printed at atelier Charlot Frères, Paris. Catalogue reference: Bloch 65; Mourlot XV; Geiser/Baer 235.b.

This work is part of a carefully curated selection by noted fine art expert Jennifer McCloskey, who was formerly affiliated with Doyle Gallery in New York and is now based in San Francisco. If you have questions about any of the works in this selection, please send an email to
