An original drypoint printed in black ink on laid paper. Signed with the artist’s estate signature stamp in black ink in the margin lower right.

This is a superb, richly printed impression of Geiser/Baer’s only state, showing touches of rich burr and a consistent plate tone throughout. Printed after the steelfacing of the plate, from the edition of 50, numbered in pencil in the margin lower left, apart from the 19 additional épreuves d’artiste (artist’s proofs), for a total of 69 impressions printed by Jacques Frélaut, Paris 1961; published by Galerie Louise Leiris, Paris, 1981.

Catalogue reference: Bloch 254; Geiser/Baer 293 B.b.1. Literature regarding this artwork: Emmanuel Benador, Picasso Printmaker: A Perpetual Metamorphosis, QCC Art Gallery, The City University of New York, Bayside, New York, 2008, p. 204 (ill.).
