Why We Love This

Taken from plate number 33 from the Bacchanals suite, this is a linocut after Pablo Picasso, printed in 1962. Picasso invented the "ëreduction" method, in which the same linocut is progressively cut for each new colour, making it impossible to take any further prints from the original plates. In 1962, in collaboration with Picasso and Galerie Louise Leiris, new linoleum plates were made at 42% of the original size, and it was from these that prints such as this were made. This is not signed.

Rare Posters, Inc. holds one of the most comprehensive collections of fine art museum and exhibition posters and prints. These beautifully intact, evocative prints offer all of the power of an original work of art.
