As described by
This texture-rich piece features Morocco's iconic flat-woven ends and sumptuous pile with ribbed spacing. Angular snaking borders symbolizing water outline the edges of the composition, framing the abstract glyphs and geometric figures that decorate the elongated field of this vintage midcentury rug. Stacked segments are paired with interconnected squares that are one of the most powerful and universal symbols for protection against the evil eye.
About the Seller
Jason Nazmiyal, the owner of the Manhattan-based rug company that bears his name, has been buying and selling antique and vintage rugs for three decades. His goal is not merely to find and offer the finest handcrafted rugs—worthy though that goal is—but also to share his knowledge of and passion for the art form. His collection, which ranges from Moroccan runners to Swedish flatweaves to antique Oushaks, shows that he continues to achieve both ambitions.
