Why We Love This

An interesting and highly detailed map of the Great Lakes region showing counties and townships, as well as Lake Huron, Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, the Erie Canal, and the Mohawk River. The map also has vignettes of Kingston, Niagara Falls, and of a group of Native Americans in an encampment. It was engraved for R. Montgomery Martin's Illustrated Atlas by John Tallis in London, 1851. Hand-colored and exceptionally rare.
