An original drypoint printed in black ink on Verge d’Auvergne laid paper bearing the “Richard de Bas” watermark. Signed with the artist’s estate stamp signature in the margin lower right. This is a richly printed impression of Geiser’s only state, from the edition of 50 printed after the steelfacing of the plate, numbered “38/50” in pencil in the margin lower left (there were 15 additional artist’s proofs numbered in Roman numerals, and three unsigned and unnumbered proofs in this edition, apart from the 57 unsigned and unnumbered impressions printed by Lacouriere in 1942 also after steelfacing, and apart from 4 or 5 impressions printed prior to steelfacing). One of 45 plates from the Caisse a Remourds suite, published by the Galerie Louise Leiris, Paris, 1981; printed by Frelaut, Paris, 1961.
