An original sugarlift aquatint printed in black ink on Auvergne Richard-de-Bas laid paper bearing the “La Celestine” watermark, from the book edition of 400. It is dated in the plate at the upper right "27.5.68. II" (in reverse). This work is a fine impression of the definitive state (there were 50 additional impressions printed on BFK Rives wove paper and issued as plate 122 of the series 347 Gravures). Plate LXIV of 66 etchings and aquatints from the album La Célestine, illustrating the text, a dramatized novel in 21 acts, also known as La Tragicomedia de Calisto Y Melibea, attributed to Fernando de Rojas, originally published in Burgos in 1499.
