Why We Love This

An original lithograph printed in black ink on China paper. Signed on the stone with the artist’s monogram device upper right. This work is a fine impression of Wittrock and Adriani’s only state, from the book edition of 355 on this paper (there were 355 additional book edition impressions printed on wove paper, and 100 deluxe edition impressions printed in various colors on a variety of different papers, for an overall edition of 810). Plate five of ten illustrating the Georges Clemenceau book Au Pied du Sinaï (At the Foot of Sinaï), published by Henri Floury, Paris, 1898; printed by Chamerot et Renouard, Paris.
