Why We Love This

Original lithograph printed in two colors (black over a light ochre tint stone) on wove paper bearing portions of the “Arches” and “Mourlot” script watermark. Bearing the artist’s stone signature in the margin lower right, Picasso also dated and inscribed on the stone upper right (in reverse) “Dimanche 24.5.57”. A fine impression of the definitive state from the edition of 1000, with the printed signature issued for the benefit of the Nice newspaper “Le Patiote” (apart from the hand-signed and numbered edition of 200, and a few artist’s proofs).
