Shine Zip by Dennis Krukowski. Contemporary photograph of work of street artist Richard Hambleton. Signed and dated 1983 1/10. Silver giltwood frame. Commissioned by Albert Hadley.
Albert Hadley’s East 85th Street apartment served as his design laboratory for more than 30 years. He instantly transformed it from a standard prewar to a model of modernist perfection. Many of his iconic items are included in this sale: an Italian standing lamp from Van Day Truex; Mark Scharillo’s Sunburst Mirror; and Mr. Hadley’s “ants in your pants” chair with Robert Yoh-designed fabric, a portrait of Elsie de Wolfe on Anne Morgan’s body, and a group of photographs commissioned from Dennis Krukowski of Richard Hambleton’s Shadowmen.
