Susan Calloway Fine Arts
The Ferns of Great Britain and Ireland, written by Thomas Moore, nature-printed by Henry Bradbury and published by Bradbury and Evans in London in 1855. These beautiful prints were produced during the fern craze (1850-1890), dubbed "pteridomania" in Victorian England, using a process which began with pressing actual specimens in lead, then transferring the image by electrotype to a copper plate, and then printing and hand coloring each one. This process allowed the reproduction of the finest details.
Since opening her Georgetown, Washington, D.C. gallery almost 20 years ago, art dealer and framing expert Susan Calloway has has been providing her clientele with an eclectic, meticulously curated selection of fine art from around the world, and sophisticated custom frames. Her clients, be they first-timers or seasoned collectors, benefit from her sense of style, refined taste, and unswerving commitment to quality. Susan’s LA-based daughter, Anna Calloway, has recently joined the business, bringing another great eye into the business.
