Why We Love This

Title: Coco. Edition Size: 10. New edition fine art photograph by Paul Lange from the "Big Blooms" series. Print is signed, numbered and dated on the back of the paper. No framing or mounting is included.

Acclaimed photographer Paul Lange, a native New Yorker who has been exhibiting since 2007 and whose hundreds of editorial credits include publications like Vogue and The New York Times, has branched off from fashion and stepped into the realm of fine art photography with his work “50 Acres.” This project, begun in 2006, is an ongoing photographic exploration of one a Hudson Valley garden estate owned by renowned NYC florist Zezé and includes four series: "Big Blooms," "Fowl Portraits," "Paradisus," and "Disturbed Paradise." "Big Blooms," a portrait series inspired by women, features flowers photographed stark white backgrounds, lit as a human portrait subject. Working with concepts of size, scale and gesture, Paul coaxes each botanical specimen to display some whimsically anthropomorphic characteristic that evokes a feminine persona.
