High-resolution scan of the original blueprints of the Italian Revival-style mansion . These have been reduced, colored teal green, and printed on archival book papers and framed so that they could be displayed in this house. These were archivally custom-framed and matted to show off the workmanship of the architect, William Ward Watkin (1886-1952). Note that this high-resolution reproduction has the faded look of the original, and shows the tears from the originals for authenticity.
In February 2013, a stunning 1924 William Ward Watkin Houston mansion was given new life by a a team of design talents handpicked by Luxe Interiors + Design magazine. “We challenged the designers to celebrate the integrity and beauty of a historically preserved house--and bring it into the 21st century,“ says Houston Designer and event co-chair Bill Stubbs, who decorated the house’s gorgeous solarium. Here’s your chance to own pieces straight from the showhouse. All proceeds benefit Preservation Houston to protect the city’s architectural and cultural resources.
