About Laurin Copen

Laurin Copen attended Boston University’s School of Visual Arts with the intention of becoming an illustrator of children’s books, but after launching a lacquering business and becoming a photographer, she bought a 1791 farmhouse in the Hamptons, which in turn led her to open Laurin Copen Antiques. Her Bridgehampton shop has become a go-to source for French, Swedish, and English antiques and, especially, folk art. “If it makes me laugh or it’s peculiar,” Copen has said, “I’ll buy it.”
