Why We Love This

Chamber's Twentieth Century Dictionary compiled by Rev. Thomas Davidson. W. R. Chambers, Ltd., London, 1950. Second printing (1901). Hardcover in unclipped jacket. Small black white illustrations throughout. 1,272 pp. Was the most popular reference for solving crossword puzzles. Contains archaic, dialectical and Scottish words, and some amusing, rather quirky definitions. Under fairly worn jacket, decorated red cloth boards. Clean text.
