Why We Love This

Marine watercolor by well-listed artist Thelma Speed Houston (1914-2000). Houston was born in the Bronx and studied at the prestigious Pratt Institute. She worked as a textile designer in N.Y. before moving to San Diego and becoming a leader in the California School of Watercolorists. She is listed in Who's Who In American Art. This spirited work features a sailboat motoring along the shore with a joyful use of color. Unframed.
