As described by Laurie Zook Arts & Furnishings

Elaborately painted Japanese Satsuma Vases from Meishi period. Signed in black ink on underside, one signature partially wiped off one of the vases.
Brought back from the Tokyo Exposition in the late 1880s by the original owner, a DC estate. Small note of provenance in one of the vases.
