1940s brooch by Matilde Eugenia Poulat (Matl). Classic Matl design adorned with two repoussé birds and rows of turquoise and red coral cabochons with a large oval coral cabochon center. Five teardrops complete the piece. Signed with engraved "Matl" and marked "Mexico 925."

When Ilon Specht worked in advertising in NYC, she authored major ad campaigns, including "Because I’m Worth It" for L’Oréal. Over the years, to mitigate the stress of her high-powered job, she collected antiques for her residences. When she couldn’t decorate as fast as she could hunt and gather, she founded Hacienda, an Ojai, CA, antiques shop dedicated to the diversity of beauty, run by Martin Sierra and filled by Ilon. With this sale, she brings her collector’s eye to vintage jewelry and accessories, as gorgeous displayed on your dresser as on you.
