Why We Love This

"Modernist hinged bracelet by Taxco Master silversmith Miguel Melendez. Elegant "ruffle" design set with a diamond-cut faceted alexandrite. Miguel Melendez began working for William Spratling at Taller Las Delicias. In 1940 he joined Los Castillo and later for Margot de Taxco, where he became workshop manager. Signed with Miguel Melendez's hallmark. Also marked 'Sterling Made in Mexico' in circle."

About Ilon Specht

When Ilon Specht worked in advertising in NYC, she authored major ad campaigns, including "Because I’m Worth It" for L’Oréal. Over the years, to mitigate the stress of her high-powered job, she collected antiques for her residences. When she couldn’t decorate as fast as she could hunt and gather, she founded Hacienda, an Ojai, CA, antiques shop dedicated to the diversity of beauty, run by Martin Sierra and filled by Ilon. With this sale, she brings her collector’s eye to vintage jewelry and accessories, as gorgeous displayed on your dresser as on you.
