As described by
Catalina Island Pottery was made in Avalon from 1927-1937. This popular collectible is a cowboy-hat shaped ashtray with glossy jade green glazing. We know this was made sometime after 1932, because the island ran out of red clay and started importing white clay from the mainland. Stamped on bottom "Catalina Pottery."
