This modern, geometric design features tones of black, red, cobalt blue and mint green. Made of an overall blend of allo, Chinese silk, and Tibetan wool, the rug was hand-knotted with a crossed foundation. The rug was washed exclusively with soap and water (no added chemicals) allowing the natural lanolin in the wool to remain intact. It will develop its own patina with use and will last generations to come.

Artist and rug historian John Kurtz founded New Moon in part to preserve and promote the age-old traditions of Tibetan crossed weaving, a laborious method that results in a dense, durable rug that will maintain its regal beauty for generations. Each rug is handwoven in Nepal, free from child labor, using the finest Tibetan wool and Chinese silk. The inspiration for each rug varies, from classic Persian motifs to Navajo patterns to abstract designs inherent in nature, but each bears the unmistakable elegance and power of true artistry.
