A playful, whimsical pattern in shades of persimmon and sea foam. A blend of allo, Chinese silk, and Tibetan wool provides an almost luminescent effect. 100 knots per square inch, 3/8" pile height. Hand-knotted with a cross-woven foundation.
Artist and rug historian John Kurtz founded New Moon in part to preserve and promote the age-old traditions of Tibetan crossed weaving, a laborious method that results in a dense, durable rug that will maintain its regal beauty for generations. Each rug is handwoven in Nepal, free from child labor, using the finest Tibetan wool and Chinese silk. The inspiration for each rug varies, from classic Persian motifs to Navajo patterns to abstract designs inherent in nature, but each bears the unmistakable elegance and power of true artistry.
