This contemporary motif plays with shades of silver, gray and sea green. A blend of allo, Chinese silk and Tibetan wool gives the piece a beguiling luminescence. This 100-knot-per square inch rug has a 3/8" pile height and is hand-knotted with a crossed foundation.

Artist and rug historian John Kurtz founded New Moon in part to preserve and promote the age-old traditions of Tibetan crossed weaving, a laborious method that results in a dense, durable rug that will maintain its regal beauty for generations. Each rug is handwoven in Nepal, free from child labor, using the finest Tibetan wool and Chinese silk. The inspiration for each rug varies, from classic Persian motifs to Navajo patterns to abstract designs inherent in nature, but each bears the unmistakable elegance and power of true artistry.
