As described by Barbara Israel Garden Antiques

A rare cast-iron garden seat with fern pattern, marked "James W. Carr. Richmond. VA," circa 1900. Carr was one of the main suppliers to the South (1888-1941), producing many popular patterns of cast-iron furniture and urns. An example of the foundry's work may be found at Virginia House in Richmond, Virginia.
