Why We Love This

Spratling sterling silver ashtray with rosewood base, circa 1950. William Spratling (1900-1967) was an architect, teacher, illustrator, author and designer who emigrated to Mexico in the late 1920s and is credited with the revival of silversmithing in the town of Taxco. Largely due to his efforts, Taxco became known as the center of the Mexican silver industry.
