Why We Love This

This offset lithograph is unsigned. It is a first-printing billboard of "Peacock" by Walasse Ting.
The Chinese-American artist and poet Walasse Ting was born in Shanghai in 1929. He mingled with Karel Appel, Asper Jorn, and other members of the avant-garde group CoBrA in Paris before moving to New York in 1957. Ting drew on the Abstract Expressionism movement and, later, grew into more figurative painting, using a Chinese brush.
