This lithograph is unsigned, from an edition of 2000. It is an original lithograph poster created for an exhibition of lithographs and engravings at the Berggruen Gallery in Paris in 1967, published by Berggruen, Paris. It was printed on the lithographic presses of Mourlot Freres in Paris and engraved by Charles Sorlier. The bottom border of the poster has been trimmed. Russian by birth, Marc Chagall was educated in St. Petersburg and Paris, eventually emigrating to France in 1923. His early influences were Russian expressionism and French cubism, but Chagall created a style that was unique to the 20th century. His mastery of color suffuses his paintings and prints as well as the stained glass made for European cathedrals.

Rare Posters, Inc. offers one of the most comprehensive collections of fine art museum and exhibition posters and prints. Whether you're craving Chagall or Calder, vintage advertising images of the Monaco Grand Prix or illustrations from The Little Prince, these are the perfect choice when you're seeking something with the evocative powers of an original work of art.
