As described by Julia Santen Gallery

Serigraph on paper. The Santa Rosa was built in 1932 as a ship intended to traverse the route between the east and west coasts of the USA. The Santa Rosa, along with its sister ships, the Santa Elena and the Santa Paula, was transferred to a cruise route to the islands of the Caribbean, Colombia and Venezuela. Grace Line employed waitresses instead of stewards because they thought women were more courteous to passengers.
