Why We Love This

Original 1968 Polish poster by Wojciech Fangor for Henri-Georges Clouzot's groundbreaking documentary Le Mystère Picasso (The Mystery of Picasso). This poster is among Fangor's best work and also one of his rarest. The documentary shows the master painter at work, on occasion it appears as if he's painting directly onto the lens of the camera. Fangor paints with beautiful economy directly onto Picasso's portrait. Lithograph.

About Posteritati

Posteritati, named "the best place to be reminded that all film art isn't on-screen" by the Village Voice and voted one of SoHo's best independent shops by Time Out New York, is one of the world's premier dealers of vintage and contemporary movie art: "Any film poster fanatic will feel more than at home at Posteritati." As Vanity Fair puts it, Posteritati's Manhattan gallery is "home to more than 9,000 fine examples of American and international film-promotion."
