Henrik Grönvold (1858--1940) was a Danish naturalist and artist, known for his illustrations of birds. Grönvold was among the last natural history illustrators to publish lithographs. This vibrant piece is a fine art giclée reproduction of an original lithograph held in the William Stafford archives. The gesso and wood frame is hand-finished by craftsmen using traditional 17th-century Florentine techniques, and hand-painted in ivory with an antiqued mirror insert.

William Stafford Gallery has a sterling reputation for its reproduction prints. The London-based gallery is a treasure trove of fine art prints, contemporary black-and-white photography, sepia photography, and works in color. By commissioning artists and photographers and then controlling all aspects of print production, the gallery ensures a consistently exceptional quality. Through its collaborations with master framemakers, they offer new and refreshing presentation ideas in pace with today's design trends.
