Why We Love This

This is an original lithograph printed in black ink on wove paper bearing the BFK Rives block letter watermark. Signed on the stone with the artist’s monogram upper left.

This work is a fine impression of Wittrock’s final state, printed after the addition of the two small horizontal lines to the lower right corner of the stone, from the edition of 250 published in 1964 by La Sociéte des Amis du Musée Toulouse-Lautrec, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth (apart from the first edition of 350 published in 1898, and the second edition of 82 published in 1930). Catalogue raisonné reference: Delteil 255; Adhémar 311; Wittrock 275; Adriani 254.
